GeoBase has full support for Points of Interest (POI's).  Generally, GeoBase ships with a base set of POIs provided by the data provider;  these are divided up into categories such as restaurants, gas stations, etc.  GeoBase contains native methods for searching for POIs based on name, category or proximity to a location.
 
Additional POI's can be imported into the GeoBase File Format (gbfs) using the Layer Import tool.
