We assume a 'dedicated' GeoBase server here. There is no minimum recommended setup for GeoBase, the requirements depend on your application. For a low cost setup try a 3Ghz processor, 2Gb RAM, 7,200rpm disks
You can Further enhance performance by :
- Faster disks (10-15k RPM) and using a Striped set of 2 disks
- Further performance will be gained by placing GeoBase on a separate Physical disk (or set) from the OS
- Additional processors will increase the number of simultaneous requests (of course, multi processor machines get expensive fast and 2 processors will not give you 200% of 1 processor)
- Adding an additional 1-2gb or Ram will increase performance if you are doing routing applications.
